The advantages of delegated legislation are as follows;
- it can respond quickly.
- process is far quicker
- it allows flexibility, allowing misters to respond as problems arise.
The disadvantages of delegated legislation are as follows;
[/li][li]it takes law making away from parliament. [/li][li]allows non-elected people to make laws. [/li][li]sub-delegation means law is made by civil servants and merely "rubber stamped" by ministers. [/li][li] the large volume of DL makes it difficult to discover what the present law is. [/li][li] it could contain obscure wording that can lead to difficulty in understanding the law. [/li][li]to SAVE TIME in parliament [/li][li]to allow EXPERT IMPUT into their design and technical language to be used in the wording [/li][li]to allow flexibilty in responding to events and representations [/li][li]parliament don't have enough time [/li][li] need for local knowledge.[/li][/ul]
